Thirteen links of chain. The chain was built at the command of George Washington. It was stretched across the Hudson River to stop enemy ships. The full length of the chain was about 500 yards. Each link weighs over 100 pounds.

One link of this display is not welded down to allow people to try to lift it and experience its weight.
